Member of the Montana Board of Investments, as required by statute.

Each Board Member is appointed by the Governor to a five-year term.

• Three members must be from the teaching profession and active members of TRS at the time of appointment.
• One member must be a retired member of TRS who was formerly an active member.
• Two members are appointed from the general public.

One of these Board members is appointed by the Governor to also serve on the Montana Board of Investments (BOI). The BOI plays an important role in investing the retirement systems' funds.

During their time on the Board, members will be assigned to one of three subcommittees:

1. Personnel
2. Legislation
3. Fiscal

Two members will form each subcommittee and no member will occupy more than one at a time. These will be advisory positions to review and provide information to the full Board on issues for further discussion or action.
